Tina C. Christian, LPC, NCC
A Time 2 Talk was established in order to provide individuals with a safe and welcoming place to find guidance, encouragement, and empowerment with various issues. As a Missouri Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), previously employed as a therapist with a community residential treatment facility, I’ve assisted many clients prevail challenges such as anger management, anxiety, depression, family and relationship problems, substance abuse disorders, and day to day struggles. Overall, I have over 15 years of working with children and families, with 8 years experience working with children, adults and families with serious mental illnesses. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri. I received my M.A. Counseling with an emphasis in mental health from Webster University – Missouri, and earned my B.S. in social psychology at Park University of Missouri. My internships were completed at Swope Behavioral Health in Kansas City, Missouri and The Catalyst Foundation of Healing in Lancaster, California. My responsibilities included providing therapy and conducting evaluations with adults, and children with serious mental illnesses, which included extensive training in individual and group therapy.
My therapeutic approach is personalized to each individual therapy based upon individual needs, goals, and personality. I believe there is no one size fits all in working with individuals, and therefore I’ve adopted an eclectic, and adjustable approach, responsive to the unique needs of the individual. I believe that it is important to work together with the individual to determine the defeating behaviors and perceptions, that may be preventing them total well-being. It is my goal to help individuals create more rational, practical and effective ways to reduce and or diminish conflicts, struggles, and challenges faced. It is a team effort in assisting individuals in building the coping skills and ability, to effectively regulate emotions and manage their mood to reach individual maximum potential to afford a more meaningful and gratifying life.
