Dear Potential New Client,
Thank you for considering me as your ally on your journey working toward total well-being! I AM currently accepting new clients for virtual online sessions only.
Client Focus
Age
- Adults
- Teen
In an attempt for you to make an informed decision on whether or not I would be an appropriate fit for you, I’d like to share some information.
I currently offer counseling sessions online only due to COVID through a secure and HIPAA compliant virtual online platform. My current hours of operation are from 1pm – 8pm Monday – Friday, with my last appointment scheduled at 7 pm. I currently have session availability Tuesdays – Thursdays.
I give regular homework assignments because a 1 hour session a couple or few times a month is generally not sufficient in resolving most conflicts, individual traumas or distorted beliefs. I use a couple of different workbooks, and then sometimes it may just be activities that are assigned.
My style of counseling is generally Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), which is focused on helping clients change irrational beliefs and unhealthy behaviors. It can sometimes feel somewhat confrontational, as it will call the person out on their mess (making excuses, justifying and or rationalizing unhealthy behaviors). However, it is definitely done delicately and with finesse.
I am a trauma specialist, trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT). TF-CBT, Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Evidence based trauma therapies focus on traumatic events experienced to eliminate symptoms, behaviors, and distorted beliefs associated with the traumatic events.
An initial client intake form, along with other intake assessment forms, is required and submitted online through a secure HIPAA compliant form.
I am ONLY an in-network provider with United Healthcare (Commercial and Medicaid Plan) and Straight Missouri Medicaid. I am not in-network with any other insurance plan or any other Medicaid Managed Care Plan.
