Stroke almost 3.5 times more likely in people with psychiatric disorders…New research connects mental illness with stroke, as those with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental disorders seem to have an increased risk of stroke.
They found that people who had visited the hospital for a mental health concern were 3.48 times more likely to have a stroke within 15 days of their visit, and 3.11 times more likely within 30 days.
